Reborn Before Ex Fed Me to Worm

Dr. Evelyn has a doctorate from MIT and a husband and a sister who arranged her death on an expedition in the Sahara. She opens her eyes back at the start of that same expedition, with everything she learned the first time still in her head. She is colder this time, and she has brought sonic equipment nobody else on the team understands. The pair who killed her are on the roster again, and so are their jokes at her expense. She lets the jokes run and works quietly, setting up each account she means to settle. The rescue team assigned to the party takes risks she knows the outcome of. Under the sand there are enormous worms, and when they surface the desert turns into something none of the equipment was rated for. Evelyn holds the people who stayed loyal to her together and pushes the ones who betrayed her toward the bill she has been preparing.
