Too Late to Miss Me

Katie wants the job of team manager, and the job belongs to Anna. She sets about getting it by pinning mistakes on Anna and telling the Kane brothers things about her that are not true. Anna had come to the Kanes after her parents died. Mrs. Kane, her mother's closest friend, took her in, and she grew up with Gordy and Jonathan Kane, who played for the school hockey club. Anna ran the team, cleaned up after the two of them and kept everything moving. That went on for years, on the ice and off it. Katie's version takes hold. Gordy and Jonathan turn on Anna, and she pulls back from both of them, then gives up the position and transfers to another school. There she meets Ethan, who plays hockey, and becomes his manager. The brothers work out what Katie did after Anna has gone.
