The God King's Son and the Four Rascals of the Apocalypse

The God King's son abuses what he has been given once too often, and the celestial realm throws him out. Alaric arrives in Exile City stripped of divinity, with a golden brand burned into him, in a slum with no law and a rot working through it from below. Four orphans attach themselves to him almost at once: Wally, who fights anyone; Finn, who reads; Percy, who stays calm; and Daisy, who barely speaks. They can feel the brand and will not be sent away. They are not ordinary street children either. Each is a living vessel meant to hold one of the Four Horsemen, War, Famine, Pestilence and Death. Below the streets a fragment of the Lord of Decay is coming awake, and the city's ruler Vaya is feeding it with her own citizens, burning people to keep it growing. Black rot spreads up through the districts. Alaric can try to claw back the power he was born with, or build something else out of what he has, which is four children who decided to trust a fallen god.
