My Only Daughter

Ethan Carter built Carter Tech and spent his life on Vanessa Reed, who moved in society, and on Vanessa's daughter Chloe. His own daughter Emily grew up with nothing and was kept outside all of it. At the end he is in a hospital bed. Vanessa and Chloe are interested in what he will leave behind and want him moved into a nursing home while he is still breathing. Emily is the one who comes, and the bills that arrive are paid by her. He dies regretting the whole arrangement. He wakes up five years earlier. The present he had picked out for Chloe goes to Emily. It changes nothing in how the house sees the two of them, since Chloe is the one everyone treats as the heir and Emily counts for nothing there. Before Ethan can reach her, Emily is humiliated in front of others by the people holding the place that was hers.
