Weeping Bones

Bella wants her parents to look at her. Paul and Evelyn are her biological mother and father, and they spend their warmth on Anna, the daughter they adopted, while staying cold to Bella. Bella is murdered and her body is dismembered and scattered. Her soul comes home on Christmas Eve and finds the house going on as it did, the two of them fussing over Anna, neither of them aware that their own daughter is dead. Then her remains are found. Evelyn is a forensic examiner and Paul is the chief of police, and the case goes to them. They work the investigation without recognising the victim on the table as their child.
