Learning Love in the Storm

Samuel decided his wife Harper was not a satisfactory wife. His assistant Ruby encouraged him in this. He beat her and wore her down, then signed a contract with the Perfect Wife Training Academy, a place outside the city, and sent her there. The contract authorized what the instructors Camilla and Daniel did to her: examinations of her body, videos she was made to watch, force, and sexual assault. Harper stopped resisting and gave them everything they asked for. She became the obedient, sensual wife Samuel had wanted. When Samuel came to the academy for an inspection he was shown footage of what had been done to her, and he took her out of there in a rage, then sank into guilt over it. What came back with him was a hollow, mechanical version of the wife he had asked for. She no longer knew who she was and had no interest in the cello she used to play. Samuel found out that Ruby held shares in the academy and had arranged Harper's treatment there.
