She Ended the Fairy Tale Gone Wrong

Aria Sterling landed in New York after three years abroad, where her grandfather Augustus had put her through business management, combat training and everything required to take over the Sterling Family Trust, and where she had quietly built a company of her own called Aether International. She got off the plane and opened her phone to a live broadcast from a charity gala. Her mother Eleanor was on the floor of it, being called a madwoman and an impostor, hit and made to kneel while people filmed. Her father Harrison was in the room. So was Chloe, presented to the guests as the daughter of the house, and so were the three men Aria had grown up calling her brothers, and every one of them backed Vanessa and said the woman on the floor was nobody. Harrison had married into money using Eleanor's prenuptial trust and had been sleeping with Vanessa, once the family housekeeper, for years. While Aria was out of the country they took control of Eleanor, forged a psychiatric diagnosis, and installed Vanessa as the lady of the house in public. Aria went straight from the airport into the gala.
