Naughty by Arrangement

Na-eun is an intern at Hanguk University Hospital, and the man across the table at her arranged meeting turns out to be Cha Kang-jun, the surgeon the whole hospital talks about, none of it flattering. He has a reputation for a foul temper and a gift for making people afraid of him. He proposes a contract marriage. She takes it, and then finds out that almost nothing the hospital says about him is true where she is concerned. He is careful with her and kind in ways that have no audience, and the arrangement settles into something that looks like a real marriage from the inside. It does not stay easy. Hee-jin is in love with Kang-jun and treats Na-eun as the obstacle. Na-eun's father Dae-hyun is violent and keeps applying pressure she cannot escape. Then her grandmother dies, the one person who had always been a refuge, and Na-eun goes under. Kang-jun stays with her through it, and that is the point where the contract stops being what holds them together.
