Zhang Yi holds the post of Deputy Minister of the Court of Judicial Review. He carries a blood debt and has kept quiet about it while he waited. A hunt for a killer puts him alongside Shen Youzhi of the Imperial Guards. The two start out against each other and over the course of the case come to work together. During the same period Zhang Yi is directing events from behind, and he has arranged each step of his revenge himself.
