My Little Girl Hired Me a Girlfriend

Ron Montgomery runs a company, is forty-two, and has raised his seven-year-old alone since the divorce three years ago. His mother Martha wants him married to Hazel, an heiress, and does not let the subject drop. The child decides to stop it. At the airport he finds Elise Bennett, a twenty-five-year-old interior designer whose own work is barely paying, and asks her through tears to pretend to be his father's girlfriend for one evening. She feels sorry for him and says yes. The single evening does not stay a single evening. Ron's family look Elise over closely and do not like what they see, and Sienna, Ron's ex-wife, uses the appearance of a new woman in the house as grounds to threaten a custody fight over the boy. Elise stays anyway. She takes on work for Ron's company and does it well, and the child grows attached to her in a way that has nothing to do with the arrangement. Ron falls in love with her. Between them sit seventeen years, his mother, Sienna's lawyers, and the fact that everyone who matters already knows how the relationship started.
