Empress's Secret Backing

Activating the Intercept System, the Lazy Me Becomes the Empress’s Pillar tells the story of Micah Mercer – a laid‑back young teacher at Leland Academy – who accidentally activates the “Insight Engine” (the Heaven‑intercepting System) and gains the ability to foresee crises and opportunities. After excelling in the imperial examinations, he catches the eye of Empress Raina Kendrick and is summoned to the palace. Though she sits on the throne, Raina is actually the daughter of the Kendrick family; she ascended by awakening the dragon’s aura and has ruled wisely for eight years. The four great noble houses (Hawthorne, Winslow, Morton, and Mallory) collude with the Prescott Tribe, hoard weapons, embezzle military grain, and plot coups and assassinations to dethrone her. With the System and his own wisdom, Micah thwarts their schemes time and again, exposing conspiracies and helping Raina secure her reign. As they fight side by side, they fall in love; Micah is ennobled as Lord Qingyi, then as Consort Su, and finally becomes Grandland’s male empress‑consort. He assists Raina in reforming governance, repelling invaders, and divining the nation’s fate, becoming the empress’s most steadfast supporter. This is a legendary tale of strategy, trust, and a slacker’s extraordinary rise.
