Countryside Comeback

In the countryside of the 1980s, waste ground can be leased by anyone willing to put his name to it. A young man from the present wakes up there in the body of Zhao Dayong, who has a bad name in the village. Within days he walks into a trap set for him and gets himself out of it by talking. He meets Bai Ling, who is kind and does not give way easily, and a quiet girl called Xiaoduo. Zhao Dayong picks up the hunting his father used to do, sells what he brings down from the mountain, cooks for money, and takes a lease on a stretch of waste ground for crops and livestock. People in the village work against him and the schemes keep coming. He and Bai Ling grow close over the ordinary business of getting through the lean years.
