Aria is carrying debts that were never hers to begin with, run up by someone else and collected from her. A man who runs a criminal organization steps in and clears the matter, then has her taken to his house. She spends the drive working out what he intends to do with her, and arrives certain she is the next in a line of people who did not leave. Logan offers her work as a maid. He puts her on staff, pays her, and lets her live there. He also says the best things take time, and he means it as a statement of intent rather than a kindness. He is not in a hurry, and everything that follows in that house is arranged by him.
