Just One Heartbeat Away

Linda Winters is in a marriage that was arranged for her when the diagnosis comes back terminal. She decides to leave on her own terms and disappear rather than be watched. With the time she has left she starts rebuilding herself into someone she recognizes, and her husband Ethan, who has kept his distance the whole marriage, begins to see what he got wrong. The turn comes when Linda stands up for him in public while living openly as herself, and Ethan understands that he has loved her the entire time. By then the illness is well along, and whatever they have now runs on a clock he is trying to find ways to slow down.
