In a city where the men who run the largest fortunes are not necessarily known by sight, Andrew Finch delivers food. He is a billionaire and he keeps that to himself, which is why his son Jim thinks his father is idle and refuses to work properly. On one delivery Andrew walks in on Nadine Royce while she is bathing, and security drags him out. Jim sees it happen. The next day Andrew has another delivery to Nadine. Her company is in a financial crisis. He says a few things about it and the problem is solved. Nadine revises her opinion of him. He is older than her, but she decides he is plain and dependable, and she asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend. Her closest friends do not believe in the relationship and say so.
