When an Underdog Meets the Evolution System

The Evolution System comes from the year 2300. Whoever it is bound to picks up abilities by working at them and by helping other people, and the skills it can teach include Silver Tongue, Ironclad Body, Photographic Memory and Elite Hacker. The person who brings it into the present is a girl who has traveled back from that year. The man it ends up bound to is Evan Carter. As a teenager he was a top student from a settled home. He saved a girl who was about to be hit by a truck and was badly hurt doing it, and he was left with a stutter and a limp. His father died in an accident around the same time, his mother broke down under it all and went into hospital, and Evan dropped out of high school to earn money for the family. Years on he is working as a janitor, his coworkers bully him, and his fiancee Monica Brooks leaves him. When his mother's illness gets worse he cannot pay for her treatment. The girl from the truck is the time traveler, and she binds the system to him to repay him. Evan wakes up assuming somebody is playing a joke on him. The next time the men at work start on him, he uses the system to learn Ironclad Body, fights back, and punishes them. He quits and sets about learning skills to make his own way in business in Seacrest. He takes a position at the Sinclair Group, moves up from marketing manager to director, helps the chief executive Audrey Sinclair close deals worth several billion dollars, stops attacks on the company's computer systems, and goes up against the Thorne Group and a traitor named Robert Pierce.
