Her Silence Was the Trap

A man who tells the public he has been in a car accident and cannot pay for the surgery can get everyone on his side. The woman this is done to is Emma Clarke. She has been with Chad Shaw for three years when she finds out he has been married the whole time. He presented himself as single so he could get close to her and at her money. Once she knows, she cuts off all contact. Chad does not accept that. He puts out the story of the car accident and the surgery, and works public opinion until Emma is expected to hand over everything she has. Everyone around her blames her, and Emma stays where she is and waits. She lets him make the thing as big as he can, and then she takes out her bank statements and starts going through the money, item by item. Chad panics and lies, and the lies do not hold against what she has on paper. He is left with no reputation at all. Through all of this Colin Ford helps Emma and looks after her without asking for anything back.
