The Nine Dragons Hall has a post called Sword Master, and it goes to the foremost talent of the age. The man who holds it at present has kept the post secret and lives as a laborer, because that is the life he prefers. He is Warren Leeson, the eldest son of the Leeson family. His father favors the younger son and wants him to inherit Leeson and Tate Groups without a rival, so he sent Warren away young to fend for himself, and Warren ended up laying bricks on building sites. The woman he had been engaged to since early on decided he had no prospects and broke the engagement without hesitation. His father then names the younger brother heir of Leeson and Tate Groups. On the day that had been set for Warren's own wedding, his former fiancée marries another man there in his place. Warren tells the guests his real position.
