Reborn for You

Luke opens his eyes and it is decades back, before any of the choices that ruined things. Rachel, his wife, is pregnant and still speaking to him. He swears this time will run differently. There is no money and no job waiting, so he starts by collecting scrap and selling it on, hauling junk for small sums and putting the small sums aside. He builds from there, one job at a time, with the baby coming and the household to keep. The harder part is Rachel. She has reasons to doubt him and he knows every one of them in advance, so he works at being believed as steadily as he works at earning. Along the way he crosses paths again with the girl he first loved.
