In Love with Mr. Mysterious

Selina Smith's parents keep pressing her to marry. To put a stop to it she marries Calvin Craig in a hurry, a man everyone knows to be stingy. Her reasoning is that the house needs someone to cook and do the chores, and she likes the look of Calvin, so she is not losing on the deal. When they move into their new home they set the terms: Selina concentrates on her career and Calvin takes over the housework. Calvin does the housework as agreed, and he also starts standing between Selina and her family whenever they come to her for money, which takes a good deal of weight off her. Some time later she learns that Calvin is in fact very rich.
