They Locked Me in a FREEZER

I want back the parents I had before I turned five, the ones who bought me a house, went out in the rain for a cake, and filled albums with pictures of me smiling. My sister was born and that stopped. I turned the air conditioning down by one degree so the baby would be cooler, and my mother slapped me and shut me in the refrigerator. "Stay in there until you've learned your lesson." There was a heavy padlock on the door and she forgot about it. I was five and could not get it open from the inside, and nobody in the house came looking for me. A neighbor's mother and the building staff forced the door and pulled me out. My parents had decided by then that I was dead. They cried and begged me to forgive them when they saw me, and I shook my head.
