Reborn to Save Brother: Divorce & Consequences

In 1999, in the village, Jonathan's childhood friend stood up in front of everyone and accused Charlotte's brother Graham of ruining her honour. Jonathan broke Graham's leg on the spot and forced him to marry her. Some months later she gave birth to a baby of mixed race with dark skin. Graham, in his shame, jumped into the river. Charlotte's parents were killed in a car crash on their way to the scene. Charlotte picked up the baby and set out to bring it to the village head, and Jonathan strangled her on the road. She opens her eyes again on the day before any of it happened. Her first move is to send Graham away from the village early, on the assumption that this will be enough to change everything. At dusk the same day, in front of the ancestral hall, the childhood friend is crying out that Graham has ruined her honour all over again. Later Charlotte exposes the friend's hidden child in front of the whole village and forces Jonathan into a divorce. Jonathan's family has had its eye on her family's property the whole time, and after the divorce they keep coming at her, with harassment first and then with a new plot.
