The Scapegoat Wife

Eight years ago, a woman working as a detective was framed by her husband, who wanted to protect the mistress he was involved with. The frame-up sent her to prison. A young police officer who barely knew her began quietly collecting evidence during this time, working on her case without her knowledge. She served her sentence and was released. She took a job as a waitress in a small town, away from the work she had once done. Her husband appeared with reporters in tow, presenting himself publicly as a devoted man who had waited eight years for her. She recognized the performance for what it was and refused to forgive him for what he had done. Around this time she learned that someone had been protecting her interests from a distance for years. The evidence gathered by the young officer over that period pointed toward proving her innocence, and it started to surface.
