She Played the Game, I Changed the Rules

The day before the competition happens twice for Nancy George. The first time through it, cheat notes were found on her during the exam, the special admission to Kingswell University she had been given was taken away, and her father beat her to death for it. She found out in her last minutes that her adopted sister had planted the notes on her, and that the whole thing had been the sister's arrangement. She wakes up the morning before the competition again. What she plans at first is to keep away from her sister and get rid of the notes, and she thinks that will hold. Her parents side with the sister in the argument that follows and tell Nancy off for it, and after that she decides to get through the competition on her own work. On the day, she swaps stationery pouches with her sister before the papers go out. The notes turn up in the pouch she is holding anyway.
