My Door To The Ancient Palace

The father of the family gambles and has vanished, the mother is seriously ill, and the operation she needs costs more than anyone in the house can pay. Loan sharks have started going after the daughter. The one all of this lands on is the son, Lin Zheng, twenty-five, who pulls noodles in a restaurant kitchen, and his girlfriend leaves him at about the same time. An old door at the back of the kitchen opens into the Imperial Kitchen of the Dayue Dynasty. Lin Zheng cooks what he knows, hot and sour potato and snail rice noodles, and Princess Anyang takes to it. She pays him in gold and antiques. He sells them in the present, covers his mother's surgery, and the trade between the two sides makes him rich, which he does not fail to rub in with the ex who left. Anyang is being married off for the sake of an alliance, someone is giving her poison in small doses, and a coup is building in the palace. Lin Zheng had told her that someone in this world really would come for her, and when the coup breaks he goes back through the door.
