The Dragon Princess Gift

Miles Lynn's nets come up full every time he takes his boat out, more fish and crab and shrimp than any other boat in the harbor can carry. He sells enough in a season to buy a house and pay off debts he thought would follow him for years. His fiancée calls off their engagement once she sees the money is real. Men who used to ignore him at the docks now bring him drinks and ask for a share of his catch, and some of them start looking for ways to take the boat from him outright. The luck traces back to a woman he pulled out of the water half drowned, cut along one side, who turned out to be the Dragon Princess. He had put money into a boat with a man named Daniel Lynn, and Daniel left him stranded out past the reef, boat and all, expecting him not to come back. Miles found the princess washed up on a spit of rock while he was trying to get himself to shore. He tore his shirt to bind her wound and gave her his water. She healed, and after that his nets never came up empty. Word gets around the fishing town that Miles didn't buy his catch or his luck, and some of it is true. The sea clan backs him against the men trying to run him out of business, and against Daniel Lynn, who comes back around once he hears Miles is rich, claiming he never meant to leave him out there.
