The Oracle's Curse

In a world where an oracle's scroll is taken as binding, a curse read out over a man is a sentence nobody argues with. Penelope, a healer, was told Odysseus carried one. To break him away from her and save him, she pretended to betray him, and then raised their son by herself for six years. Odysseus comes back from the war a hero. He wants to know what happened and will not let it go, and he notices the boy has his features. Daphne works to keep the two of them apart. Odysseus finds the scroll and sees that the oracle was faked. Six years of lying come apart, and what Penelope gave up is laid out in front of him.
