THE PRODIGY RETURNS

In the Selivis household the real daughter had been missing for years, and the adopted girl, Camilla, grew up in her place. Ada, the missing daughter, is a mathematics prodigy. When she is brought home she is treated as a peasant, put in a storeroom, and fed what the servants leave. Camilla sets her up repeatedly. During an exam Camilla copies Ada's answers, and their father beats Ada in front of everyone for cheating. Ada is reborn and cuts ties with the family. She still cannot get ahead, because Camilla goes on producing her solutions before she does. Camilla reads minds. An international scientific team comes to Philadelphia looking for the prodigy, and Camilla lines up the same trick again. Ada lets her take the thoughts, then says what she knows in front of the room.
