Synopsis

Berenice Lancaster discovers that husband Daniel Brown and his protégé Bella replaced newborn Laura with a boy named Kevin. She conceals what she knows, raises Kevin indulgently in public, and protects Laura in secret for twenty years. By pretending Kevin will inherit her empire, Berenice draws the conspirators into exposing themselves at their wedding, where she reveals the exchange, destroys their claim, and names Laura as her true heir.
