A Thread from the Past

Pam Ramirez wanted to be remembered as a restorer worth the family name. The Ramirez family had spent generations repairing cultural relics, and she was the first woman in its history to head the house. She swore to protect its reputation. An accident sent her from 1925 a hundred years forward, into the Ramirez family of the present, where she arrived as the biological daughter they had only just recovered. The workshop was in ruins and nobody in the house was minding the trade. Her parents had given their affection to another young woman who had been living as the family's daughter, and the two of them worked together to block Pam at every turn. So Pam went to the workbench. Using the restoration methods the family had passed down, she brought a national-grade relic back and showed she could tell a genuine piece from a fake.
