The Back of the General

Her mother was killed in a traffic accident that had been staged, and the same scheme put her in prison for it while the person behind it stayed free. She was beaten and humiliated inside. The old lord of Phoenix Hall found her in that state and took her on as his last disciple. Before any of it she was a girl from the countryside who gave up her job to keep house full time. She put everything into her husband's family and got contempt back from them. She comes back with the Hall behind her. She cures a man from one of the powerful houses and becomes his fiancee, which sets two families against each other over power. At his family's banquet she tells the room that she heads Phoenix Hall and goes through what the other house did to her mother. Betrayals and attempts on her follow from there.
