Josh worked as a driver at Nova, the company Keith Martin heads. Josh and Rachel Mitchell met at a bar, and he ended up in her bed. Rachel, the daughter of the Maple Guild, went to Keith Martin afterward and asked for Josh. Keith gave him up, and Josh became her personal driver. He kept note of what she liked, handed her coffee when she was tired, and put himself in front of her when anything came at her. Rachel came to depend on him. He fell for her somewhere in this. Rachel found out that his approach to her had been a step in a move against the Martins. She agreed to marry Keith. Josh kept driving her and said nothing about it. At the engagement banquet he stopped pretending and set out in front of the guests what the Martins had done.
