Nation First, Family Now

2025·52 Eps

Synopsis

There is a confidentiality agreement covering the assignment Abraham was sent on, and it does not let him account for the five years he was gone. He went out of contact with Tang Yubing when the assignment started. She was carrying his daughter at the time and had the child on her own. Abraham comes back as a top academic and finds the pair of them. He can explain none of it, and he and Tang Yubing are at odds over that. At the ceremony where he takes up his post, mother and daughter are insulted, and after that he sets about protecting them.

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

You Are My Antidote

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.

The plot is hard to follow and never really comes together. With all the flashbacks and dream sequences, the pacing has no tension at all…
