Since You Like Him, I Quit

Grant Harper runs the Corner Shop in Harper Village. He’s a repair wizard—ten years of fixing everyone’s appliances for free, even paying for parts himself. He threw his back out helping Albert Hardy deliver rice, so he couldn’t make it to Donna Brooks’s place to fix her fridge. Next thing he knew, he was accused of fishing for delivery pay and dodging work on purpose. Zack Harper stirred the pot, and the whole village turned on Grant—then cleaned out his Corner Shop. Furious and heartbroken, Grant announced he was done taking repair jobs in the village—and cut everyone off. After that, every fix Zack Harper did only made things worse. Then the typhoon hit, the villagers forced a refund on the voltage regulator, and every appliance got fried. Grant took his talents to Finchdale and made a splash. His pro-level skills turned him into a top electrician and helped Finchdale land the Model Village title and investment-attraction qualification. Harper Village got crushed in the evaluation without him. Only then did the villagers realize how much his ten years of dedication had been worth.
