Alpha Is Not My Type

Sophie is a police officer working a stolen necklace case when she steps somewhere she cannot explain and finds herself among werewolves. The guards take her for an assassin sent after their leader, and she is dragged in front of Alpha Alston and held. Alston is hours away from marrying Selena, the strongest Beta in the pack, a match built on what the pack needs rather than on anything he feels. When he gets close enough to Sophie to question her, he recognizes her as his fated mate, which is not supposed to be possible with a human. He keeps hold of her, walks her into the ceremony that was arranged for him and Selena, and tells the assembled pack in front of the bride that there will be no wedding and that Sophie will be his Luna. Sophie has no idea what a Luna is, no way back to her own city, and a room full of wolves who now have a reason to want her gone. Selena has lost a marriage and a rank in the same minute, in front of everyone she commands.
