I Will Live to See the End

The novel is already written, ending included, and in it a palace maid named Fiona matters so little that nobody bothers with her name. Abigail wrote it. An accident drops her into the book as Fiona. She knows every turn of the plot and how each fate is supposed to run, and she uses that against the consorts scheming at each other in the back palace. The people she is trying to keep alive are her mother, a eunuch who stays loyal to her, and the others she has come to care about. Then the story starts diverging from what she wrote, what she remembers stops matching what happens around her, and she still has to reach the final chapter alive.
