Mommy’s Little Hero

Chloe's father has remarried, and his new wife is a practical woman. She and a relative of hers have settled that Chloe will marry a man with a violent temper whose family has money, and they keep at her until she agrees. Chloe has been waiting seven years for someone else. Seven years ago she found Xander badly hurt and looked after him. He was a ruler from another galaxy and had powers, though she never learned that. She became pregnant and had a son, Lucas. Xander left Earth, and when he came back he found only the boy, so he took Lucas away with him rather than be a weight on Chloe. She has waited since then without knowing why they went. At that point Lucas, now seven, comes back to Earth to find his mother. He has powers now, and he uses them to stop the wedding and to get his mother out.
