Mother's Guardian Angel

The Grim Reaper makes deals down in the underworld, and the one Chloe Yates is offered runs to seven lives. She goes back as an animal seven times, her mother has to recognize her in every one of them, and then she gets her own body returned to her. Chloe is a firefighter. She is badly hurt during a rescue and goes into a coma. The doctor on her case is her ex, June Gabriel, who keeps working on her while her aunt leans on her mother to stop the treatment and let her go. Her soul is out of the body by then and taking the offer. She comes back as a sparrow, then a goldfish, then a white cat. Her mother knows her each time and cries over it. Six of the seven go that way. On the seventh she is a small yellow dog, and her mother has Alzheimer's by then and looks at her without knowing who she is.
