Reign of the Wasteland

Eli wants his mother Maren fed and the family house left alone, and in a drought-struck town after the collapse he can have neither. He died in his last life, betrayed by a friend, and he is six years old again in a sick and undersized body. The family has nothing. Relatives take what little is left and the Vulture gang takes the rest. The Wasteland Trading System opens to him. He buys food and supplies through it with a currency he does not understand, and he can hire fighters. He gets his mother out of danger, starts making soap and selling it, and has money coming in. Thugs come, then rebels. When a barbarian army moves on the town, Eli marks out a safe zone, puts elite guards on it, and works on rebuilding the house.
