Fangs, Fortune & My Heroic Vet

Li Meiqin's brother has been poisoning her. He wants the family's property, and the poison is there to take her out of the running before the inheritance is decided. It nearly costs Meiqin her share of the estate, and before the matter is settled it lands her in the hands of kidnappers. The one who gives the brother away is a golden eagle, and the eagle tells Wang Cong. Wang Cong runs a pet clinic. Some time earlier he had thrown himself in to save a wild boar that turned out to be a mountain spirit, and afterward he could understand what animals were saying. The first tip he got, from the birds, was that a building was about to come down. He got Li Meiqin out before it fell, and the Li family invited him in as a guest. That is how he came to be close enough to hear the eagle's gossip about the brother. The inheritance then turns into a business contest. Wang Cong has cockroaches and sparrows gather information on the other side, and Meiqin wins her claim. Her brother's people, with nothing left to try, kidnap her. Wang Cong puts out a call to the animals of the whole city, and dogs, cats, birds and rats come out onto the streets.
