The Gods Kicked Me: Now They Kneel!

Louis King collects rent. The property is a run-down apartment compound in a divine realm, and he came into it when the Landlord System switched itself on inside him; the rent is what he lives on. He is mortal now, though he used to be the god who kept order, until he was betrayed and the council of Gods stripped him of his divinity. His power and his looks went with it, and he was left in the city to waste away. The calamity called the End of Law was about to finish him when the system woke. The calamity has since reached the Gods themselves. They are fighting one another for what little faith is left, and in the middle of it they find that Louis's derelict compound is the one place that keeps out the decay of the laws. The council that threw him out comes to his door and kneels there. They ask him, for the sake of old times, to let them move in as well.
