General! The Empire Needs Us!

In the present day the general is taken for a madman. He arrived that way, out of his mind, and it costs him the stretch of time before his head clears; by then he finds that the enemy he was fighting when he vanished is still at work in this era. He had been the young supreme commander of the Empire's Dragon and Tiger army, in the middle of a battle with pirates, when he was thrown forward in time. When his reason comes back, the hatred comes back with it. He kills a swordsman from the kingdom the pirates came from, in one family's house, and later breaks up a plot the same kingdom is running in secret inside a second family. Then he is thrown back through time again, and two men, one from each of those families, go with him into the age he came from.
