In her first life Zoe spent years running her husband's parents' household. Then she was diagnosed with cancer. Her husband Liam, their son Jay, and Liam's parents turned on her over the illness, and she was put out of the house without any of the property. She died of it alone. She wakes up two years before that, before the diagnosis. She goes for a divorce. She lays out Liam's lies in front of the family and says out loud what his parents had been arranging. Liam and Jay have come back to the same day she has, and both of them know from the first life that Zoe was the only one who gave anything up for that household, so they set about keeping her in the marriage.
