Synopsis

Mack is killed by the Black Cross, and before he dies he asks Will to look after his daughter Lillian, her small son Andy, and a secret he has been keeping. Will, an agent known as Death God, watched it happen. This is Chicago in the 1920s. Will stages his own death and takes work in a diner under the name Cain so he can stay near the mother and child without being known. He fends off gangs who come after them, and while doing it he finds that officials in the city are working with the Black Cross. He takes on the two of them together with one person he trusts.

Episode 1 might make you go "what IS this lunatic" and bail. He's my favorite short-drama actor and even I hesitated. Please stay with it!! The acting is unreal, the way his eyes go, the way he smiles, each one gets me >_<

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
