I Was Chosen to Kill a God

He has wanted the person who killed his parents for as long as he has dealt in antiques. What he has instead is a curse and a role in a plan laid down a thousand years ago, in which his part is to be the living key that opens it. The memories of eighteen masters wake up inside his head. They give him ways of fighting that no ordinary person has, and they come with pain that tears at the soul and with the one fact he did not want: the teacher who guided him is the immortal that killed his parents and has been arranging all of it since. So he stops being a piece on the board and starts moving pieces. He puts together a team of people the world would call monsters, never certain which of them will hold and which will sell him. The fighting mixes old knowledge with present-day technology, and he is one human going after something that has been alive for two thousand years.
