Synopsis

Grand Marshal Keene was accused of treason and collusion with the enemy, and his household was put to death. His daughter Winona fled with a servant loyal to the family. On the road they came across Yvonne, the eldest daughter of the prime minister, who had been driven out of her father's house and had fallen ill during her own flight. Winona took Yvonne's name. With Yvonne's maid she lived on a farm far from the capital for ten years, working to establish what lay behind the treason charge against her father and behind what was done to Yvonne.

My favorite of his modern-set work and honestly my favorite short drama full stop. You get the complete unhinged-psycho performance, and I'd say his acting leveled up here. If you're working through his filmography, this is the one.
