Nadia Knightley needs money for her grandmother's medical bills, so she takes a job breaking up a wedding as a fake mistress. On her way out she grabs the jersey of Benjamin Sparrow, a rugby player with the Washington Badgers, and the photo of him that circulates afterwards, which looks like him in women's clothes, turns into a scandal. The two of them are pushed into a contract marriage. Paris, the idol Nadia admires, uses her to steal Benjamin's playbook. She goes along with it and it leaves her with nowhere to stand. Misunderstandings build up, there are kidnappings, and Benjamin is injured badly enough that his life is at risk. That is when Nadia sees what Paris is. Benjamin puts himself in harm's way for her again, and the guilt sends her away without saying goodbye.
