Within The Grip

Yin Zhou is the Crown Prince, and Gu Yuluo is a daughter of the Gu household he moves into. He goes there under the name Gu Zhaoxi, using the disguise to stay out of reach of an investigation and to run one of his own. She works out that he is useful to her and lets him stay, because she wants to know the truth about where she came from and cannot get at it alone. They start as enemies. Each is keeping something from the other, and the working arrangement between them turns into something closer to trust as it goes on. Around them are people with their own designs on power. Lies get built up and then broken open, and both of them reach points where the choice in front of them carries a real cost.
