The Maid (Thai Ver.)

Shen Yuqing was born to a concubine of the Duke's household and was treated as the lowest person in it. Her mother, Lady Qin, was killed. She then took the name Xiyan and worked as a courtesan at Meixiang Pavilion, which put her within reach of the Regent, Pei Ji. She had his trust first and his affection after that. Over the same period she traced a set of plots running between the Duke's household and the Empress Dowager, and she kept her son, Pei Zhao, clear of them. She and Pei Ji moved against the Empress Dowager and the Duke's household together, and both of them came close to being killed in the process. Pei Ji then went deep into enemy ground with himself as the bait, so that Xiyan and Pei Zhao would be out of it.
