The Cook's a Sword Immortal?!

Leonis is raising an adopted daughter called Dove, and keeping her out of the reach of his own past is the reason for the way he lives. He was once the strongest swordsman alive, a Sword Immortal, and he had enough of the killing, so he took a job in the kitchen of the Cloud Sect and let everyone there take him for a scruffy cook who drinks. The Demon Sect invades and the quiet ends. The sect comes close to being wiped out more than once, and each time Leonis handles it from where nobody can see him, then goes back to the kitchen. He has no intention of letting anyone find out what he can do. The sect's holy maiden turns out to be fated to serve as the sacrifice fed to the Zhuxian crossbow, and an old demon buried long ago is coming up on its return. Leonis goes back on the promise he made himself and takes the sword up again.
